When and where?
Here's what you need to know.

When is SPS 2024?

June 23 through July 20, 2024.

This year’s four-week summer program runs from Sunday, June 23, through Saturday, July 20, 2024.

When are the admissions deadlines?

From December 1, 2023, until the class has been filled.

We will begin accepting applications for the summer 2024 program on December 1, 2023, and will continue to do so on a rolling basis until the class has been filled. Although there is no set application deadline, most students submit their applications in January and February, and the class is typically complete by mid-March. Occasionally a space will open up if an admitted student changes plans, so we encourage interested applicants to inquire about space availability throughout the spring. Historically, students who have applied earlier in the process have had a higher likelihood of admission to SPS.

Please note that there is NO APPLICATION FEE FOR APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BEFORE MARCH 15. Applications received after March 15 are subject to a $25 application fee.

Where do SPS students live?

In the historic Lane-Johnston Building at St. Albans School on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral, in the heart of Washington, D.C.

You will be paired with a roommate from another part of the country (or the world), and from your dorm, you can explore the iconic Washington National Cathedral, as well as its 59-acre campus, with its parks and schools, as well as a popular on-campus cafe. As the program continues, you will also be introduced to the beautiful neighborhoods nearby, including historic Georgetown.

Where do the students eat?

Campus dining is served in the communal hall known as the Refectory.

You will share communal meals with students and faculty in a dining hall, known on campus as the Refectory, that past SPS students say reminds them of Hogwarts. The communal meals provide a great opportunity to continue conversations from the classrooms and connect with fellow students in a less formal setting. We also provide meals on-the-go to accommodate our travel schedule.
